Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing

mittagongsquare44At St Michael’s pastoral care is at the heart of all loving relationships, and encompasses all that happens in the school.

Activities associated with Pastoral Care in our school include:

  • the implementation of the School-wide Positive Behaviours for Learning (SPB4L) framework
  • the implementation of a Values Education Program that is taught across all classes
  • the services of a CatholicCare counselor, made available for families in need
  • workshops related to cyber-safety, conducted for students in Years 5 & 6 and their parents
  • the continued support for new students through a “buddy” scheme
  • recognising children’s birthdays
  • recognising academic and sporting achievements
  • recognising positive playground and classroom behaviour
